A Longitudinal Study on the Establishment of Student Growth and Adaptation System

This study is a cooperative support study between the Korea Ministry of Education and the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education, and aims to establish longitudinal data reflecting the characteristics of Incheon Metropolitan City. It tracks the growth and educational experiences of fourth graders in elementary school and third graders in middle school in Incheon Metropolitan City, who have experienced COVID-19. Also this study aims to investigate common survey questions from seven other cities and provinces (Gyeonggi, Daegu, Chungbuk, Gangwon, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Chungnam). Through this, the purpose of this project is to prepare education policies for post-COVID-19 elementary and middle school students, make recovery of physical and mental health deficits, and prepare for the new normal generation.
본 연구는 교육부와 인천광역시 교육청 협력 지원 연구로, 인천광역시의 특성을 반영한 종단데이터 구축을 목표로 합니다. 1차년도 연구에 이어, 코로나 19를 경험한 인천광역시 초등학생 5학년과 고등학생 1학년의 성장발달과 교육경험에 대한 추적을 진행하며, 타 7개 시∙도(경기, 대구, 충북, 강원, 광주, 대전, 충남) 공통 문항을 조사합니다. 이를 통하여 포스트 코로나 19 인천광역시 초∙중등생의 교육, 신체 및 정신건강 결손 회복과 뉴노멀 세대 준비를 위한 교육정책 마련을 목적으로 합니다.

Currently, the CSIA data is limited as accident reports. Therefore, it is only used as basic data, impossible to be used for predicting and preventing the accidents. This research team conducts research services to discover additional analysis indicators and improve statistical analysis items to establish a safety accident prevention management system based on scientific evidence.
현재 어린이집 안전공제회에 축적된 데이터는 사고보고서를 중심으로 안전사고에 관한 모든 항목에 대해 빈틈없는 기초자료로서 기능하며, 안전사고의 경향과 맥락을 파악하는 데 중요한 자료임. 그러나 기초자료로서 사용하는 데 그쳐 안전사고의 원인이나 사고 발생의 예측 및 예방은 불가능한 상황임. 본 연구팀은 추가 분석 지표를 발굴하고, 통계 분석 항목을 개선하여 과학적 근거에 의한 안전사고 예방 관리 체계를 구축하는 연구용역을 진행함.

Our lab was selected as a new and small size research team in the long-term data research section of the Social Science Research Support Project. The purpose of this study is to understand the digital daily life and development experienced by the alpha generation in the transition to the digital age, and to propose appropriate innovations. This study will be conducted over a total of three years.
청소년 및 청년발달 연구실은 사회과학연구 지원사업의 장기데이터 연구 부문에 소형 신규 연구팀으로 선정되었습니다. 본 연구는 디지털 시대로의 전환 속에서 알파 세대가 경험하는 디지털 일상과 발달을 이해하고 적합한 혁신을 제안하는 데에 목적을 두고 있습니다. 이 연구는 총 3차년도에 걸쳐 진행될 예정입니다.

Development of safety childcare environment problem-solving technology based on infant situation and behavior analysis

This study is a research service project of the Information Communication Planning and Evaluation Institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT. The purpose is to develop technologies aimed at preventing safety accidents that may occur at childcare sites, reducing the work of childcare teachers, and providing customized childcare safety services. In the first year of 2021, a pilot was conducted at the Children's Life Guidance Research Institute in Yonsei University, and in the second year, it is planned to expand to a daycare center in Eunpyeong-gu and Seongdong-gu, and to a daycare center in Gyeongsangbuk-do in the third year.
본 연구는 과학기술정보통신부 산하 정보통신기획평가원의 연구용역 과제로, 현재 본 연구실과 연세대학교의 공과대학 유수의 연구실이 공동으로 진행하는 프로젝트입니다. 보육현장에서 발생할 수 있는 안전사고 예방, 보육교사 업무 경감 및 맞춤형 보육안전 서비스 제공을 목표로 하는 기술 개발에 목적이 있습니다. 2021년 1차년도에 연세대학교 내 어린이생활지도연구원에서 시범 진행되었으며 2차년도에는 은평구, 성동구 관내 어린이집, 3차년도에는 경상북도 관내 어린이집으로 확장 운영을 계획중입니다.

Developing Digital Literacy through Community integration: Development of a Senior - Young adults Mentoring program

This study aims to integrate the society by resolving the digital alienation of the elderly and strengthening ties by reducing the generation gap through the development of a youth mentoring program to solve the digital literacy problem of the elderly. Experts in youth development, adult development, gerontology, quantitative research, multidimensional research design, multidisciplinary convergence research, digital education, and software application technology participate in the research to derive convergence outcomes related to the latest technologies and their applications. Specifically, 1) deriving new research results in the research team’s area of expertise to expand knowledge and supplement the limitations of individual fields with an integrated perspective, 2) role in solving problems related to local communities and digital literacy, 3) multidisciplinary convergence research method, collaboration with other fields, exchange of professional knowledge in other fields of study, 4) using the collected data, you can expect results such as education on various analysis methods.
본 연구는 노인의 디지털 리터러시 문제해결을 위한 청년 멘토링 프로그램 개발을 통해 노인의 디지털 소외를 해결하고 세대간 격차를 줄여 유대를 강화함으로써 사회의 통합을 목표로 합니다. 청년 발달, 성인 발달, 노년학, 양적연구, 다차원적 연구설계, 다학제 융합연구, 디지털 교육 및 소프트웨어응용 기술의 전문가들이 연구에 참여해 최신기술과 그 적용에 관한 융복합 성과물을 도출하고자 합니다. 구체적으로 1) 연구진의 전문영역에서 새로운 연구 결과를 도출해 지식을 확장하고 통합적 관점으로 개별 분야의 한계를 보완 2) 지역사회 및 디지털 리터러시 관련 문제 해결의 역할 3) 다학제 융복합 연구의 진행 방식, 타 분야와의 협력 방식, 타 학문 분야의 전문지식 교류 4) 수집 된 데이터의 활용으로 다양한 분석 방법 교육 등의 성과를 기대할 수 있습니다.

This study aims to develop a biomarker measurement device and digital platform for stress management of children. It aims to develop devices for biometrics and monitoring of brain waves and activity indicators for children, research stress evaluation models and develop digital treatments for stress risk management, and develop and demonstrate HW-related digital platforms for data-based personalized stress measurement, prediction, and management.
본 연구는 아동의 스트레스 관리를 위한 실시간 생체지표 측정기기 및 디지털 플랫폼 개발을 목표로 합니다. 아동 대상의 뇌파 및 활동 지표 등의 생체 측정 및 모니터링을 위한 기기 개발, 스트레스 평가 모델 연구 및 스트레스 위험 관리를 위한 디지털 치료제 개발, 그리고 데이터 기반의 개인 맞춤형 스트레스 측정 및 예측, 관리를 위한 HW 연계 디지털 플랫폼 개발 및 실증을 목표로 하는 한국산업기술진흥원 지원 지역협력혁신성장사업(R&D) 프로젝트입니다.

Our lab is part of the interdisciplinary work that is specifically focused on the examination of underlying mechanisms of PTSD due to early adverse experiences (e.g., childhood sexual abuse) with a goal to inform intervention effort to develop effective treatment models for youth with PTSD. This interdisciplinary team includes researchers from neurophysiology, psychiatry, and medical ethics.
청소년 및 청년발달 연구실은 이른 시기에 성적학대 등 부정적 경험을 한 청소년들의 PTSD에 효율적으로 개입할 수 있는 방안을 찾기 위해 간학문적 연구에 참여하고 있습니다. 특히 PTSD가 생기는 매커니즘에 대해 집중하고 있으며 신경생리학, 정신과학, 의학윤리 분야의 연구자들과 함께 일하고 있습니다.

The Manual Development of an Art Education Program for youth with complex PTSD

Our lab is part of the program which aims to lead a healthy life of youth with complex PTSD by implementing the appropriate art psychological therapy program. Based on this program, we tried to develop a selective program by conducting effect verification studies. Psychological and psychiatric assessments were also conducted for complex PTSD victims to plan early diagnosis and new treatment approaches. Both short-term and long-term project is underway intending to increase the capacity of therapists by establishing standardized manuals.
청소년 및 청년발달 연구실은 청소년들의 건강한 생활을 위해 복합적인 PTSD를 미술심리치료 프로그램을 통해 치유하고자 하는 프로젝트에 참여하고 있습니다. 본 프로그램을 통해 효과성이 입증된 선별 프로그램을 만들고자 했습니다. 또한 복합적인 PTSD 피해 청소년을 위해 조기 진단과 새로운 접근의 치료법이 심리학적 시각과 정신과학적 시각으로 평가되었습니다. 단기 및 장기 프로젝트가 현재 치료자들을 돕기 위한 표준 메뉴얼 개발을 위해 진행되고 있습니다.

JJ- involved youth and their support system thru utilizing local resources: A pilot test of a skills coaching program

The purpose of this project was to provide coaching program for juvenile offenders, in order to help their social adaptation. The underlying themes were to provide chances for juvenile offenders to make their own paths and plans, to provide opportunities to commit to achieve their own goals, and to provide consistent support by coaches with non-judegemental attitude. Each coaching session followed with a written report which was checked by the supervisor, also pre-tests and post-tests were held to check the effectiveness of this coaching program.
본 프로젝트는 소년원생의 사회 적응을 돕기 위한 코칭 프로그램을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있습니다. 내재적인 목적은 소년원생들이 스스로 길을 개척하고 계획 조력, 본인이 세운 목표 성취를 위한 기회 제공, 비행행동을 저지르지 않도록 지속적인 코칭을 통한 지원 제공 등이 있습니다. 매 회기는 기록되고 수퍼바이저를 통해 확인을 받았으며, 사전 검사와 사후 검사가 코칭 프로그램의 효과성 검증을 위해 진행되었습니다.

Heterogeneous Profiles of Risk and Protective Factors of Adolescents in the Juvenile Justice System

In collaboration with Dongduk University, our work focused on the development of psychopathology among youth and young adults who have been involved in the child welfare and/or the juvenile justice system. The overarching goal of this project was to characterize diverse profiles of co-occurring health risking behaviors and risk-taking behaviors to inform intervention efforts for these at-risk youth.
본 프로젝트는 동덕여대와의 협력을 통해 이루어졌으며, 아동복지 혹은 보호관찰 시스템의 관리를 받았던 청소년 및 청년들의 정신병리학적 발달에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 해당 프로젝트의 최종적인 목표는 위기 청소년들의 동시 발생적인 위험 행동과 위험 감수 행동에 개입하는 다양한 방법들을 분명히 하는 것입니다.

Toward the development of a school readiness program in Korea: A preliminary study

The purpose of this study was to conduct a preliminary study in preparation for the NRF of Korea(National Research Foundation of Korea) application in the future. We conducted a short-term longitudinal study (Time 1 and Time 2 assessment) to identify unique aspects of school readiness in Korean children. Specific aims of this study included 1) To examine the extent to which Korean children's early literacy, social and self-regulation skills in kindergarten are associated with their adjustment in 1st grade; 2) To examine the extent to which parents' involvement and parenting behaviors are associated with children's adjustment in 1st grade; 3) To examine the extent to which aspects of school readiness are different from or similar to those of children in the US.
본 연구의 목적은 향후 한국연구재단 활용을 준비하기 위한 예비 연구를 수행하는 것입니다. 우리는 단기 종단 연구(시점1 및 시점 2의 평가)를 수행하여 한국 어린이의 학교 준비도의 고유한 측면을 식별하고자 하였습니다. 본 연구의 구체적인 목적은 1) 한국 아동의 유치원 초기 문해력, 사회성 및 자기조절 능력이 1학년 적응과 어느 정도 관련이 있는지를 알아보는것, 2) 부모의 개입과 양육 행동이 1학년 아동의 적응과 관련되는 정도를 조사하는것, 3) 학교 준비의 측면이 미국 아동의 그것과 얼마나 다르거나 유사한지를 조사하는 것입니다.

Investigation of demand for the human rights of children in residential institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic

This study is a research service ordered by the Seoul Metropolitan Government , and the purpose of this study is to investigate the human rights situation of children subject to protection in childcare facilities who are in the blind spot of human rights in the context of COVID-19, and to use the results to develop human rights protection policies. The necessity and detailed purpose of this study are as follows: 1) Check and supplement the effectiveness of the COVID-19 emergency policy implemented on social groups in vulnerable conditions, 2) Search for risk targets and sensitive countermeasures in the human rights blind spot in the COVID-19 situation, 3) Establish the basis for reflection in policyfor children in childcare facilities infringed by COVID-19 by examining the human rights situation of the company , burnout of workers, changes in work duties, and difficulties during operation.
본 연구는 서울특별시청에서 발주한 연구용역으로 코로나 19 상황에서 인권 사각지대에 놓인 아동양육시설 보호대상아동의 인권 실태를 조사하고, 그 결과를 인권 보호 정책개발에 활용하고자 하는 데 목적이 있습니다. 본 연구의 필요성 및 세부 목적은 다음과 같습니다. 1) 취약조건에 있는 사회집단에 시행된 코로나 19 긴급 정책의 효과 점검 및 보완 필요 2) 코로나 19 상황의 인권사각지대 위험 대상 모색 및 민감한 대응방안 모색 3) 코로나 19로 침해받는 아동양육시설 내 아동의 인권실태, 종사자의 소진과 근무업무 변화, 운영 시 고충 등을 조사하여 정책 반영 근거 마련.
국공립어린이집 아동학대 예방 및 대응체계 연구
A Study on the Effect of Child Abuse Prevention and Response System at National and Public Daycare Centers

Through a basic preliminary investigation, the awareness and improvement needs of childcare teachers of four daycare centers entrusted by the Gyeonggi Social Service Center were identified. Based on this, the ultimate goal is to prepare a child abuse prevention program and complaint response plan. Literature and statistical data related to child abuse at daycare centers were collected and reviewed, and based on the awareness and needs of daycare staff, a regular management program for respecting the rights of infants and children and prevention of abuse, and a manual for handling complaints were developed.
기초적인 사전조사를 통해 경기사회복지센터가 위탁한 4개 어린이집 보육교사의 인식과 개선 필요성을 파악하였습니다. 이를 바탕으로 아동학대 예방 프로그램 및 민원 대응 방안을 마련하는 것이 최종 목표입니다. 어린이집 아동학대 관련 문헌 및 통계자료를 수집·검토하여 어린이집 직원의 인식과 요구를 반영하여 영유아의 권리 존중 및 학대 예방을 위한 정기 관리 프로그램 및 민원처리 매뉴얼 개발되었습니다.
